Netflix Series 'Donggung' Set Catches Fire, No Injuries Reported

The filming set for the upcoming Netflix series 'Donggung' (working title), starring Nam Joo-hyuk, Noh Yoon-seo, and Jo Seung-woo, was completely destroyed by a fire. According to fire authorities, the blaze broke out at approximately 2:08 AM on December 21 in a drama set located in Misan-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province. The fire was extinguished after about two hours, but it resulted in significant property damage, including the destruction of a 3,655 square meter set building and lighting equipment stored inside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The production team for 'Donggung' stated that they are cooperating with the production company, police, and fire authorities to investigate the cause of the incident. 'Donggung' tells the story of Gucheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), who possesses the ability to traverse the world of spirits, and a palace maid named Ginger (Noh Yoon-seo), who harbors secrets. Together, they uncover a curse that plagues the royal palace, with Jo Seung-woo playing the king. The series is highly anticipated, featuring the talents of writer Kwon So-ra and director Choi Jung-kyu, known for their work in the Korean occult genre. The release date has yet to be announced.
