Neighbor Attacked with Boiling Oil Over Noise Dispute

A shocking incident occurred in Daejeon, South Korea, where a man in his 60s, identified as A, allegedly threw boiling cooking oil on his neighbor, B, in his 50s, during a confrontation over noise complaints. The attack took place on July 5 at around 6:30 PM in a villa located in the Goejeong-dong area of Daejeon. B sustained third-degree burns on his shoulders, neck, arms, and legs and is currently receiving treatment at a specialized burn hospital.

According to B's family, the confrontation began when B heard loud banging noises, which prompted him to check on A. B approached A's door and asked if he needed help with any issues. However, when A opened the door, he was holding a weapon and the boiling oil, which he then threw at B.

Photos released by B's family show severe burns covering his body, with no uninjured areas from his face to his back. Following the incident, A also threatened another neighbor who had come to investigate the commotion with the same weapon.

It has been reported that A had a history of disputes with neighbors regarding noise issues. The police have arrested A on charges of aggravated assault and intimidation and are currently investigating the details of the incident.
