NCT's Jaemin Donates 100 Million Won to Support Children in Need

NCT's Jaemin has made a generous donation of 100 million won to support children around the world, on behalf of his fan club, 'NCTzen DREAM'. The Korea Committee for UNICEF announced this contribution on December 24, 2024.

The funds were raised through the sale of frames at Jaemin's first solo photo exhibition, 'NARCISSISM - JAEMIN 1st EXHIBITION', held in June. This donation will be used entirely to provide warm winter support for children suffering from war and natural disasters globally.

Previously, in 2018, Jaemin visited Hanoi and Kon Tum in Vietnam with the Korea Committee for UNICEF to support music education for underprivileged children. Since 2015, SM Entertainment, NCT's agency, has partnered with UNICEF to support music education for disadvantaged children in Vietnam and the Philippines for the past ten years.

Jaemin expressed his desire to give back to his fans by participating in meaningful initiatives, stating, "I wanted to do something meaningful with my fans to repay their precious love. I hope this helps every child have a warm end to the year."

Choi Mi-jin, Secretary-General of the Korea Committee for UNICEF, thanked Jaemin and his fans for their special gift to children during the year-end season, assuring that the funds will be used wisely to assist children facing harsh winters due to war, disaster, and poverty.

UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) is the only organization explicitly mentioned in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child for its role in promoting children's rights. It operates globally in areas such as health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education, protection, and emergency relief. The Korea Committee for UNICEF, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has become the only national committee that has transitioned from being a recipient of aid to a donor to developing countries.
