Park Hyun-jong, the former chairman of BHC, has been transferred to the prosecution after being investigated for embezzlement and breach of trust. BHC의 전 회장 박현종이 횡령 및 신뢰 위반 혐의로 검찰에 송치되었다. 서울지방경찰청의 반부패수사대에 따르면, 박은 특정경제범죄 가중처벌 등에 관한 법률에 따라 횡령 혐의로 구속 없이 서울중앙지검에 송치되었다. 경찰은 박이 회사 자금에서 수억 원을 횡령했다고 믿고 있으며, 이로 인해 2023년 12월 송파구에 있는 그의 자택과 BHC 본사에 대한 압수수색이 진행되었다. 박에 대한 구속영장 청구는 3월에 제출되었으나 법원에서 기각되었다.

횡령 혐의 외에도 박은 2월에 정보통신망법 및 개인정보 보호법 위반으로 기소되었다. 그는 두 명의 전 직원의 아이디와 비밀번호를 사용하여 경쟁사 BBQ의 내부 네트워크에 접근해 상업 비밀을 훔쳤다. 그는 대법원에서 6개월의 징역형을 선고받았으나 2년간 집행유예가 부여되었다.

박은 2013년 BBQ가 회사를 사모펀드에 매각한 후 BHC로 이직하기 전, BBQ의 해외 사업을 담당하는 부사장으로 재직했다. 그는 2023년 11월 BHC의 모회사인 글로벌 미식 서비스에 의해 경영 개혁을 이유로 회장직에서 해임되었다.

In Gangwon Province, the intensity was rated at level 3, where individuals, especially those on upper floors, could noticeably feel the quake, and stationary vehicles might sway slightly. The Korea Meteorological Administration has advised residents in the vicinity to remain cautious and be aware of potential aftershocks.

The funeral arrangements for the late broadcaster Lee Sang-yong (이상용), known affectionately as 'Popeye Uncle' (뽀빠이 아저씨), have been established. His wake was set up on the morning of May 10, 2025, at the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall, room 31, located in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The funeral service is scheduled to take place on May 12 at 9:40 AM, with the burial site designated in Yongin. 

Lee Sang-yong passed away at the age of 81 after collapsing at a nearby hospital due to a cold. He was quickly transferred to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately did not survive. The wake was organized the day after his passing due to the family's residence in Hong Kong and the unavailability of a vacant funeral hall. The family rushed back to Korea upon receiving the news. 

Lee made his debut as a host on BS Christian Broadcasting in 1971 and gained fame in 1975 while hosting the KBS children's singing program 'Let's Sing Together' (모이자 노래하자), where he earned the nickname 'Popeye.' He became a beloved figure through his role as a host on MBC's military support program 'Stage of Friendship' (우정의 무대) starting in 1989, where he was cherished by military personnel and their families. Additionally, he was known for his philanthropic efforts, supporting over 560 children suffering from heart disease, helping them find new hope.

고 이상용 아나운서(뽀빠이 아저씨)의 장례식 준비가 완료되었습니다. 그의 빈소는 2025년 5월 10일 오전에 서울 서초구에 위치한 가톨릭대학교 서울 성모병원 장례식장 31호실에 마련되었습니다. 장례식은 5월 12일 오전 9시 40분에 진행될 예정이며, 매장지는 용인으로 지정되었습니다.
