Namgoong Min's Agency Warns Against Impersonation Scams

Actor Namgoong Min's agency, 935 Entertainment, has issued a warning regarding scams involving individuals impersonating staff members. On May 9, the agency reported that there have been incidents where scammers posed as managers of their artists to solicit money from small businesses. These scammers approached various restaurants and wine companies under the pretense of organizing gatherings, placing large orders, and then failing to show up, resulting in financial losses for the businesses involved.

The agency emphasized that its employees and associates will never request money transfers or purchases from external parties under any circumstances. They urged anyone receiving similar requests to refrain from sending money or responding, and to report any incidents to the police immediately. The agency acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent further occurrences.

This warning comes amid a rise in fraudulent activities where individuals impersonate celebrity managers for financial gain. On May 8, Baro Entertainment, the agency representing actor Byun Woo-seok, also announced legal action against similar impersonation scams. Additionally, on May 6, singer Song Ga-in's team reported a case of fraud where someone posed as a manager to extort money through a 'proxy purchase' scheme, assuring that they would do their utmost to prevent similar incidents.
