Namgoong Min Addresses Low Ratings of 'Our Movie' After SBS Comeback

Actor Namgoong Min has made his return to SBS after three years with the new drama 'Our Movie' (우리영화), but he has spoken out regarding the show's disappointing ratings. On June 15, he shared a screenshot on his personal Instagram of an article discussing the low viewership numbers for the drama, which is directed by Lee Jeong-heum and written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min. The article highlighted that the ratings for 'Our Movie' have dropped to about one-third of the 11% viewership that his previous drama 'Gwigung' (귀궁) achieved in its finale.

In his post, Namgoong Min expressed gratitude, stating, "Despite the sensational headline, it seems you watched our drama, so thank you very much. Even with the current low ratings, I am very confident." He encouraged viewers to keep watching until the fifth episode, adding, "If by then there is still no significant improvement, feel free to hold me accountable for the ratings. It will be my responsibility."

The first episode of 'Our Movie' aired on June 13, recording a promising 4.2% nationwide, but the second episode saw a decline to 3.0%. Despite this, Namgoong Min remains optimistic about the show's potential. During a press conference on June 10, he mentioned, "I always have expectations, and I am confident because we worked hard. However, whether the results will reflect that confidence is uncertain, and I will accept it humbly. This is not a drama to judge after just one episode; I hope you will watch until the fourth episode."

'Our Movie' tells the story of a film director, Je-ha, who has no tomorrow, and an actress, Da-eum, whose today is her last, exploring their love that cannot be postponed. The drama airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
