Nam Yoon-soo Apologizes for Controversial Social Media Post

Actor Nam Yoon-soo (남윤수), 28, has issued an apology following a sudden controversy surrounding an inappropriate social media post. On April 13, he took to his Instagram Stories to express regret, stating, "I discovered that an unpleasant post was reposted without my knowledge today. I am upset and sincerely apologize for causing discomfort to many. I will be more careful in the future."

Earlier that day, images capturing a post from Nam's Instagram began circulating across various online communities. The post appeared to be an advertisement for adult products, featuring explicit imagery, which was shared on his personal account that boasts 1.92 million followers.

In response to the backlash, Nam attempted to clarify the situation through a communication platform with fans. He shared a photo of himself driving and remarked, "What’s this repost? Did I get hacked? A fan informed me about the strange post that appeared." The repost feature allows users to share content from other accounts on their own profiles.

He later posted a screenshot of his Instagram algorithm, commenting, "This is all that shows up in my algorithm. I guess it must be a hack. I didn’t even realize I clicked anything. Is it a malicious ad?" Following the controversy, his agency stated, "It appears that a post was mistakenly clicked while he was driving. We became aware of it through fan reports and deleted it immediately."

Nam Yoon-soo debuted as a model in 2014 and has appeared in several web dramas. He gained recognition in 2020 for his role in the Netflix original series 'Human Class' (인간수업), earning a nomination for Best New Actor at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. Last October, he took on his first leading role in the TVING drama 'The Law of Love in the Big City' (대도시의 사랑법), where he portrayed a character from the LGBTQ+ community. He also made headlines last year for donating a kidney to his father.
