Myung Se-bin Reveals She Gave Up Frozen Eggs at 49, Shares Emotional Moment on 'Single's Inferno'

In a heartfelt episode of SBS Plus's reality show 'Single's Inferno' (솔로라서) aired on November 26, 2024, actress Myung Se-bin (명세빈) opened up about her decision to give up her frozen eggs. During the show, she discussed her desire for companionship, particularly when it comes to traveling. Myung expressed that while she enjoys trips with her mother and friends, traveling with a romantic partner feels like a distant memory. She shared, "I want to experience that wonderful atmosphere together with someone special."

When co-host Ko Myung-hwan (고명환) suggested she could become a travel YouTuber, Myung laughed and responded, "Fishing might be a bit much... Do I have to prepare sashimi every day?" She also shared her dream of a fateful encounter on an airplane, saying, "I’m excited about who might sit next to me. It’s a chance to talk for a long time, which adds to the romance."

Myung noted that many women seek natural connections like those that can happen on flights. However, she humorously lamented that her public image often leads to empty seats next to her, saying, "I appreciate the thought, but I’m just full of expectations."

Later in the episode, after inviting the couple Ko Myung-hwan and Im Ji-eun (임지은) to her home, Myung reflected on her own mistakes, joking about how she might have acted differently if she had been the one paying for meals. She also revealed a large box of donated clothes intended for Africa, asking Im Ji-eun to help cover the meal costs.

In a poignant moment, Myung discovered baby clothes among the donations and mentioned her past decision to freeze her eggs for future possibilities. However, she revealed that she has now chosen to let go of that option, stating, "They are no longer there; I didn’t extend the freezing. I realized that it’s not just about having eggs, but I also need to find the right person. The process ahead seems daunting, and it made me feel sad and upset."

After a moment of vulnerability, she regained her composure, reflecting, "I realized this is how I have to live my life." The other cast members comforted her, acknowledging that if she dreams of a family like many others, having children might not be an easy path.

'Single's Inferno' (솔로라서) is a reality program that candidly explores the lives of charming singles who navigate the joys and challenges of being alone, airing every Tuesday at 8:40 PM.
