Musical Actor Park Jun-hwi Addresses Controversy Ahead of Marriage

Musical actor Park Jun-hwi has issued a handwritten letter to clarify recent personal controversies surrounding him, particularly a photo taken with fellow actor Woo Jin-young just before his upcoming marriage. On June 13, he posted on his Instagram, expressing his deep apologies for not addressing the situation sooner and for disappointing many fans.
The controversy erupted in the early hours of June 5 when a photo surfaced on Park's Instagram showing Woo Jin-young, who is also starring in the same musical, dressed casually and looking down. The photo was accompanied by a KakaoTalk conversation where Woo asked if he could shower, to which Park responded about closing the door and turning up the volume.
At the time, Park was reportedly engaged to another woman, and the images were allegedly leaked by his fiancée, who had witnessed the two together. This led to rampant speculation of infidelity, prompting both actors to withdraw from the musical they were performing in. The controversy intensified due to the shortness of Park's attire in the photo, which some perceived as inappropriate.
In his clarification, Park stated that he was simply watching performance videos at home with a close colleague and emphasized that there was no inappropriate relationship with Woo Jin-young. He explained that he often hosts colleagues at his home for casual meals and discussions, reiterating that the photos were taken in a relaxed setting. He clarified, "I was wearing comfortable clothes (a t-shirt and shorts) and was having a conversation with Woo Jin-young in the living room."
Park firmly denied any claims of being in underwear or having an inappropriate relationship with Woo, stating, "Those claims are completely false." He added that it is common for colleagues to visit his home after performances, sometimes changing into comfortable clothes or showering, and that this instance was no different. He emphasized that his relationship with Woo Jin-young is strictly professional, with no emotional or physical interactions occurring.
He expressed concern for Woo Jin-young, who is just starting his acting career, hoping he would not be hurt by misunderstandings and speculation. Park also mentioned that he has personally apologized to both his fiancée and Woo Jin-young, striving to comfort them during this difficult time and taking full responsibility for the situation.
On the same day, Park's fiancée released her own statement, explaining that the controversial photo was posted in a moment of personal emotional turmoil and was quickly deleted. She refuted the exaggerated claims circulating online regarding "underwear attire," "on the bed," and "confirmed infidelity," stating they are not true.
She extended her heartfelt apologies to both actors, their families, and fans of the musical, wishing for the situation to not be further exaggerated or distorted, and for both actors to restore their reputations and return to a peaceful life. She also requested privacy for herself as a non-public figure, hoping to return to her daily life quietly.
