Moon Yoo-gang Reflects on Successful Run of Musical 'Holy Innocent'
Actor Moon Yoo-gang has shared his thoughts following the successful conclusion of the musical 'Holy Innocent'. On December 13, he expressed his happiness at returning to the stage after a long time through his agency, Workhouse Company. He stated, "It was a joyful time to meet everyone on stage again. Every time a production ends, I feel a bittersweet mix of emotions, and I believe this work will be remembered as a gift."
He added, "There were many moments when I wanted to tell my character Theo on stage that 'it's okay.' I hope that those moments provided some comfort to the audience as well. I am grateful to all the viewers and will strive to show even better performances in the future."
The musical 'Holy Innocent', which ran from September 27 to December 8 at the Link Art Center Dream 1, is based on the film 'The Dreamers'. It tells the story of three young people who meet by fate during the tumultuous period of the 1968 revolution in Paris, as they pursue their endless ideals and grow through their experiences together, ultimately stepping into reality.
In 'Holy Innocent', Moon Yoo-gang played the lead role of Theo, a passionate film enthusiast and twin brother to Isabel, who grapples with societal injustices and challenges traditional values, embodying the turmoil and struggles of youth caught in the midst of revolution.
This production marked Moon Yoo-gang's first musical performance in six years since his debut. Despite being a newcomer to the musical stage, he captivated audiences with his powerful voice, natural singing ability, striking visuals, and rich acting skills.
Having debuted in the play 'Another Country', Moon Yoo-gang has continued to make a name for himself with roles in productions such as 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', 'Amadeus', and dramas like 'Itaewon Class', 'Missing: They Were Here', 'When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon', and 'Mental Coach Jegal Gil'. Recently, he also engaged with film audiences through his role as Sheriff Chang-bae in the movie 'Hijacking'.
Following the conclusion of 'Holy Innocent', Moon Yoo-gang is currently preparing for his next project.
