MONSTA X's Kihyun to Make Variety Show Debut Post-Military Service

Kihyun, a member of MONSTA X, is set to make his first fixed variety show appearance after completing his military service. He will star as the special youngest member on the new E Channel show, 'Ryu Student Eonamseon' (류학생 어남선), which premieres today, May 17. In this role, he will showcase his skills as a 'Yoseoknam' (a trendy and stylish man) with a knack for cooking.

Ahead of the show's debut, Kihyun expressed his excitement and nerves through his agency, Starship Entertainment, stating, "This is my first fixed program right after returning from the military, so I was quite nervous. However, thanks to the two older brothers and the staff who took great care of me, I had a lot of fun filming and learned a lot. I hope to share useful recipes and showcase the chemistry of the 'Yosalal Trio' (Ryu Soo-young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Kihyun). As this is my first fixed variety show in celebration of our 10th debut anniversary, I hope you look forward to seeing various sides of me."

'Ryu Student Eonamseon' is a cooking variety show that explores various international dishes, where participants learn local recipes and add their own twist to create unique 'Ryu Study Recipes.' The first culinary destination is Porto, Portugal, where Kihyun will impress viewers with dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. In a preview clip released earlier, he was seen practicing knife skills, wok techniques, and even foreign language skills in preparation for the show.

Throughout the series, Kihyun will demonstrate his enduring passion for cooking and refined skills, creating innovative recipes inspired by international cuisine, thereby broadening viewers' culinary horizons.

Kihyun has previously showcased his culinary interests and talents through various content, including MONSTA X's own reality show 'Mon Eat It All' and the variety program 'Honbapsang.' He has also gained recognition among his group members for his cooking skills, especially as MONSTA X is known for being a group of food enthusiasts.

Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, Kihyun has established himself as the main vocalist of MONSTA X, known for his dynamic performances and stable vocal abilities, which have made a significant impression on K-pop fans. He has also showcased his versatility by singing for webtoons, drama OSTs, and various cover videos, earning him the title of 'K-Pop's New God.' Before enlisting, he made his solo debut in 2022 with his first single 'VOYAGER' and mini-album 'YOUTH,' marking his transition into a solo artist.
