MONSTA X to Perform at KCON LA 2025 After Nine Years

K-pop group MONSTA X is set to take the stage at KCON LA 2025, marking their return to the event after nine years. The group departed for Los Angeles today, July 30, ahead of the festival, which will be held from August 1 to 3 at the Crypto.com Arena and LA Convention Center.

On August 2, MONSTA X will perform at the M COUNTDOWN stage, showcasing their signature high-energy performances that are sure to excite local fans. The anticipation is particularly high following the success of their first unit, Shownu X Hyungwon, at KCON LA 2023. However, member I.M will not be able to attend the performance due to health reasons.

MONSTA X's connection with KCON dates back to their debut in 2015. They made their first U.S. appearance at KCON 2015 USA just three months after debuting with their mini-album TRESPASS. They continued to build their presence by participating in KCON 2016 LA, and now, nine years later, they will return to the KCON stage as they celebrate their 10th anniversary.

The KCON stage left a lasting impression on the members, especially leader Shownu, who recalled it as one of his most memorable moments during a press conference for their 10th anniversary. He shared, "We had just debuted and performing at KCON LA was overwhelming. The venue felt enormous, and the cheers were deafening. I was shocked when I took out my in-ear monitors and heard the crowd's roar."

Since their first KCON performance, MONSTA X has steadily risen to global stardom. They have consistently challenged the U.S. market, participating in various events and album promotions. Notably, they became the first K-pop group to join the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour three times starting in 2018, and their first U.S. studio album, ALL ABOUT LUV, reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2020. Their second English album, THE DREAMING, also made a significant impact by charting for two consecutive weeks.

The growth of MONSTA X can be seen through the venues they have performed in. During their first world tour in 2017, they played at a small venue in LA with a capacity of 2,300 seats. The following year, they performed in a venue for 7,000 people, and by 2019, they sold out a 21,000-seat venue in just one day. Their 2019 world tour also included a performance at the Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena), solidifying their status as a global artist.

KCON has been a significant milestone for MONSTA X, marking their first U.S. stage. As they return to KCON LA 2025 for their 10th anniversary, fans are eager to see what emotional performances they will deliver. MONSTA X is also set to make a comeback in the music scene with their mini-album THE X, releasing on September 1.
