MONSTA X Makes a Strong Comeback on 'No Forgiveness'

MONSTA X (몬스타엑스) has made a powerful return with their appearance on the web variety show 'No Forgiveness' (노포기). The 16th episode aired on KBS Kpop's YouTube channel on May 31, featuring leader Shownu (셔누) as a co-host alongside members Kihyun (기현), Hyungwon (형원), and Jooheon (주헌) as guests.

In the episode, the members indulged in a feast of dishes including spicy octopus soup (박속낙지탕), squid ramen (통오징어라면), boiled cuttlefish (갑오징어숙회), potato pancakes (감자전), kimchi pancakes (김치전), and rolled omelet (계란말이), showcasing their signature 'Mukbang' style. Their candid reactions to the food were mouthwatering, and their unique personalities and playful banter kept viewers entertained throughout.

As MONSTA X celebrates their 10th anniversary, they shared heartfelt stories that resonated deeply. Jooheon recalled the most memorable moment of the past decade as the day they first topped a music show, noting how Shownu, who rarely cries, was overwhelmed with emotion, while Hyungwon was left in shock. Kihyun added that he could see the tears of their fans, known as MONBEBE (몬베베), during that moment.

Hyungwon highlighted their world tour as a significant memory, expressing the meaningful experience of meeting fans from around the globe. The discussion also touched on their future goals, with Jooheon stating, "Now is the time for us to showcase our music," and expressing a desire for MONSTA X and MONBEBE's health, as well as aspirations for major awards.

In response, Shownu reflected on his own dreams of winning prestigious awards, admitting he had previously lacked the confidence to voice them. He appreciated the openness of the conversation, which created a warm atmosphere.

The members expressed their gratitude towards MONBEBE, stating that their appreciation for fans is paramount. They reminisced about emotional moments while watching fan-made videos celebrating their 10th anniversary. Jooheon poignantly remarked that when asked why they became artists, he always wants to mention MONBEBE, showcasing their deep love for their fans.

Since their debut in 2015, MONSTA X has steadily climbed the ranks, achieving their first music show win just 916 days after debuting. They made history in 2018 as the first K-pop group to join the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour, participating three times by 2021, solidifying their status as global artists. With their military hiatus now behind them, they are set to hold a full-group concert in July, and fans are eagerly anticipating this new chapter.

Additionally, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, MONSTA X is hosting a free pop-up exhibition titled 'MONOLOGUE' (모놀로그) in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, until June 11.
