Middle School Student Under Investigation for Illegally Filming Teacher in Ulsan

In Ulsan, a troubling incident has emerged involving a middle school student who allegedly filmed teachers without their consent. The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Ulsan Police Agency have launched an investigation into the matter.
On November 26, officials reported that a 3rd-year student, referred to as A, is under investigation for secretly recording the body of a teacher, identified as B, within the school premises.
A successfully captured the footage and reportedly encouraged classmates to engage in similar behavior, sharing the illicit images with them. However, it appears that the other students approached by A did not participate in the filming.
Investigations revealed that A shared the recorded images with several peers, who initially did not recognize the subject as a teacher. Once they realized the identity of the individual in the photos, they contemplated reporting the incident. However, they hesitated due to concerns about potential retaliation from A, who had a history of bullying.
Ultimately, two students decided to report the incident to the school on November 1, leading to further disclosures from others who had viewed the images.
During the school's internal investigation, it was uncovered that A had previously attempted to film multiple women in public places, including a fast-food restaurant and Ulsan Grand Park, prior to targeting the teacher. The total number of victims is reported to be five, including the homeroom teacher, with one of the teachers filing a formal complaint against A on November 1.
Following the report, police seized A's mobile phone and computer for forensic analysis. They plan to investigate additional victims and determine to whom the recorded images were shared once the forensic results are available.
Meanwhile, the school is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, with a meeting of the Teacher Rights Protection Committee scheduled for November 27 to decide on potential disciplinary actions against A.
