MBC's 'You Quiz on the Block' Episode Featuring Late Weathercaster Oh Yoon-na Removed Amid Bullying Allegations

In light of the recent allegations of workplace bullying surrounding the late MBC weathercaster Oh Yoon-na, the replay of episode 170 of 'You Quiz on the Block' has been taken down. As of January 30, 2025, the OTT platform Tving, which supports the tvN program, has suspended the replay service for this particular episode. Episode 170 featured weathercasters Bae Hye-ji, Nam Yoo-jin, and Oh Yoon-na, along with Professor Kim Boong-nyeon and actor Son Seok-koo.

Additionally, video platforms such as YouTube and Naver TV have also removed all clips featuring Oh Yoon-na's appearance on 'You Quiz.' Only the talk segments with Son Seok-koo and Professor Kim Boong-nyeon remain available.

On January 27, the Maeil Shinmun reported that a 2,750-character suicide note was discovered on Oh Yoon-na's unlocked phone, detailing her experiences of workplace bullying from two specific weathercasters. Oh Yoon-na, who became a freelance weathercaster for MBC in May 2021, reportedly faced harassment starting in March of the following year. The note described incidents where a colleague falsely attributed a reporting error to her, while another criticized her for pointing out incorrect weather information, suggesting that a junior should not correct a senior.

In response to these allegations, MBC stated, "It is a confirmed fact that the deceased did not report her grievances to the relevant departments or management during her time as a freelancer. If she had officially reported any issues, the company would have conducted a thorough investigation."

MBC emphasized its strict policies against workplace bullying, stating that they take such matters very seriously and are prepared to investigate any claims made by freelancers or cast members. They also expressed readiness to initiate an investigation based on the newly discovered suicide note if the family requests it.

Despite MBC's firm stance denying any knowledge of workplace bullying, Oh Yoon-na's family has gathered evidence, including phone conversations and KakaoTalk messages, to file a civil lawsuit against her colleagues. The situation raises questions about whether MBC will conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of workplace bullying against Oh Yoon-na.
