Reports indicate that Oh's suicide note mentioned being bullied by two specific weathercasters. As the names of the alleged perpetrators circulated, Kim Ga-young was implicated, with claims that she did not attend Oh's funeral and was part of a group chat where bullying occurred. The family of the deceased has publicly stated that Kim and another individual were the 'true demons' behind the harassment, contrasting with others who were more overt in their actions. In response to the unfolding situation, viewers have called for the resignation of Kim and other alleged bullies, leading to a flood of negative comments on her personal accounts and the weather forecast channel 'Today’s Weather.' The comments section has since been closed. While Kim Ga-young has stepped down from 'Good Morning FM,' other MBC weathercasters identified as bystanders continue to appear on air, although they have also disabled comments on their videos and social media to avoid backlash. MBC announced on February 3 that they would form an investigation committee to clarify the circumstances surrounding Oh's death, with the first meeting scheduled for February 5.
