MBC Completes Investigation Committee for Late Weathercaster Oh Yoanna

MBC has announced the establishment of an investigation committee to look into the circumstances surrounding the death of weathercaster Oh Yoanna. In an official statement released on February 3, the network expressed its condolences, stating, "We mourn the passing of Oh Yoanna." The committee was confirmed on January 31 to clarify the facts related to the allegations surrounding her death, and its formation was completed over the weekend.
To ensure the investigation's fairness, reliability, and objectivity, the committee will include external members as well as internal personnel. Cha Yang-hee, a lawyer from the law firm Hae Myung, has been appointed as the chairperson, while Jeong In-jin from the law firm Barun will serve as an external member.
The committee is set to hold its first meeting on February 5, where it will begin verifying the facts related to the allegations against the late weathercaster. Oh Yoanna tragically passed away at the age of 28 in September of last year. Although the cause of death was initially undisclosed, a letter found last month revealed that she had suffered workplace bullying from two fellow weathercasters, sparking significant public concern and discussion.
