Matsushige Yutaka Shares Thoughts on Entering the Korean Entertainment Scene

Matsushige Yutaka, the star and director of 'The Lonely Gourmet' (고독한 미식가), recently expressed his views on potentially entering the Korean entertainment industry. During a press conference held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall on March 13, he discussed his latest film, 'The Lonely Gourmet: The Movie' (고독한 미식가 더 무비).

The film follows the adventures of Goro, a professional solo diner, as he travels from Paris to a remote island in Japan, then to South Korea's Namhae and Geoje, before returning to Tokyo, all in search of the ultimate broth.

Matsushige has made several appearances in Korean content, including the MBC variety show 'How Do You Play?' (놀면 뭐하니) and a Netflix program with Sung Si-kyung, leading to speculation about his deeper involvement in the Korean entertainment scene. However, he clarified, "I am currently working with Sung Si-kyung on Netflix, but I do not have plans to fully enter the Korean entertainment industry. Since last fall, 'My Own Lonely Gourmet' has been airing, showcasing various situations faced by office workers and others. I have created an omnibus-style work and have thought about how it might be adapted into a Korean version."

'The Lonely Gourmet: The Movie' is set to be released on March 19.
