Man Arrested for Stabbing Wife Days After Restraining Order Ends

A man in his sixties appeared in court on June 21 for a pre-trial detention hearing after allegedly stabbing his wife to death just a week after a court-issued restraining order expired. The suspect, identified as A, expressed to reporters, "I believe I did the right thing," and offered to explain his actions if given the chance. He justified visiting his wife’s home by stating, "It’s my house, so I should be able to go in. Where else would I live?" When asked if he felt remorse for his remaining family, he replied, "I have only one son, so I don’t feel sorry for anyone." The judge, Lee Gi-woong, expressed concerns about the possibility of the suspect fleeing and subsequently issued a detention order. A is accused of fatally stabbing his wife, B, multiple times in front of their apartment in Bupyeong, Incheon, around 4:30 PM on June 19. He had received a temporary order in December prohibiting him from approaching B within 100 meters, which expired on June 12, just a week before the incident. Reports indicate that A had attempted to visit B on June 16 but did not see her, and returned again on June 18, the day before the murder.
