Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake Strikes Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, at 1:19 PM on May 10, 2025. The epicenter was located 5 kilometers northeast of Yeoncheon, at coordinates 38.14°N latitude and 127.09°E longitude, with a depth of 9 kilometers. The seismic intensity was rated at level 4 in Gyeonggi Province, meaning that many people indoors could feel the tremors, and dishes and windows might shake. In Gangwon Province, the intensity was rated at level 3, where individuals, especially those on upper floors, could noticeably feel the quake, and stationary vehicles might sway slightly. The Korea Meteorological Administration has advised residents in the vicinity to remain cautious and be aware of potential aftershocks.
