This statement comes in the wake of the '뭐요' incident that occurred on December 7, amid heightened public attention surrounding the impeachment vote against President Yoon Suk-yeol. Many celebrities voiced their opinions and supported citizens participating in protests during this time.

The controversy began when Lim posted a birthday message for his dog, which prompted a netizen to criticize him for being insensitive during a national crisis. Lim's response, simply stating '뭐요,' led to further backlash when the netizen pointed out the gravity of the situation and questioned his lack of engagement. Lim retorted, "Am I a politician?
