Lim Soo-jung Joins MYM Entertainment After Two-Year Solo Journey

Actress Lim Soo-jung has concluded her two-year period of independent activity by signing with a new agency, MYM Entertainment, which is also home to Lee Min-ho. On November 27, MYM Entertainment announced the signing, expressing their excitement about collaborating with Lim Soo-jung, who is known for her delicate appearance paired with profound acting skills. They stated, "We are honored to walk alongside Lim Soo-jung, who has consistently pursued her path as an actress with integrity. We will provide her with full support based on deep trust to create a positive synergy together."

After her contract with her previous agency ended in 2022, Lim chose to focus on solo activities rather than immediately seeking a new agency. In November of the previous year, she appeared on the show You Quiz on the Block, where she mentioned that she had been working independently for about a year. "I didn’t intend to work alone; I just wanted some personal time. Somehow, I ended up participating in significant events, including attending the Cannes Film Festival," she shared, reflecting on her experiences without an agency.

Lim also highlighted the advantages of her solo work, stating, "Today, I took a taxi, and sometimes I drive myself to the set. Given the nature of the location today, I felt it was fine to just walk in, and it was really nice."

However, she acknowledged the challenges that come with independence, particularly in negotiating fees. "I handle my own settlements, and discussing costs is difficult. Right now, aside from that issue, there are other discussions ongoing," she explained.

In April, during her appearance on the show Yeojeong Sikdang hosted by Jung Jae-hyung, she reiterated that she was still without an agency. "I drove myself here today, bringing my stylist along. When you’re working alone, it can be exhausting, but it also has its charm. Communicating via email has become a bit like writing letters, which I find enjoyable," she noted.

After more than two years of solo activities, Lim Soo-jung has decided to join MYM Entertainment, which aims to leverage its extensive experience in managing artists like Lee Min-ho to support her next career phase.

Lim Soo-jung has built a solid filmography characterized by her unique presence and versatile acting skills across various genres. She has established herself as one of South Korea's leading actresses, known for both her star power and acting prowess. She is set to showcase a new side of her talent in her upcoming project, Disney+'s Pine (파인).
