Lim Chang-jung Signs Exclusive Contract with Jay-Z Star Amid Successful Concert Tour

Singer Lim Chang-jung has brought warmth to his relationship with Jay-Z Star by signing an exclusive contract, while also marking the beginning of his active career with a series of sold-out shows for his 30th debut anniversary concert.
On May 3, Lim held his nationwide tour concert titled '2025 Lim Chang-jung 30th Anniversary <Chonseureoun Concert>' in Daegu, achieving a full house from the very first performance. Following this success, he is set to meet fans in Busan on May 24, in Seoul on May 31 and June 1, and in Goyang on June 28.
The concert promises to showcase Lim's 30-year musical journey, featuring new songs alongside beloved classics, generating high anticipation among fans. Attendees from the Daegu concert have shared enthusiastic reviews, describing it as a "passionate performance lasting over 2 hours and 30 minutes" and expressing their happiness throughout the show.
As a result, the upcoming Seoul performances have also sold out, leading to the addition of an extra show on June 1. Lim is determined to create unforgettable memories with his fans during this concert series, preparing engaging content that emphasizes his approachable charm and heartfelt music.
In 2023, Lim was embroiled in a stock manipulation scandal but was cleared of all charges by the prosecution in 2024, revealing him as a victim. He made his comeback with a new album released in December last year and recently signed an exclusive contract with Jay-Z Star on May 14.
With the successful hosting of his 30th anniversary concert and the new contract, expectations are high for Lim's activities in 2025.
Despite facing challenges due to the stock manipulation allegations, Lim has returned to the music scene with his new song 'Things That Will Happen Will Happen.' In April 2023, as he struggled with the fallout from the allegations, the concert planning company drafted a settlement agreement detailing a total loss of 1.129 billion won, which included performance guarantees and venue fees. The planning company stated that the amount was calculated considering Lim's situation.
In response, Lim's team argued that the mentioned unreturned guarantees included not only the remaining concert guarantees affected by the incident but also compensation for damages, delayed interest, future expected profits, and costs for a remake album. They claimed that the actual debt amount differs from what was stated. Lim has already repaid part of the compensation and has cooperated fully with the planning company regarding legal obligations.
After previous disagreements, Jay-Z Star commented, "We had differences regarding Lim Chang-jung's nationwide tour concert 'Multiverse.' After the incident was reported in the media, we engaged in sincere discussions with Lim for a long time and decided to clear up misunderstandings and work together again," leading to the signing of the exclusive contract.
