Lee Young-ji Donates to Victims of Jeju Air Tragedy

On January 3, 2025, Lee Young-ji made a generous donation to support the victims of the Jeju Air tragedy. Through her social media, she confirmed contributions of 10 million won each to the Korean Red Cross Jeju Air and the non-profit organization, 따뜻한하루 (Warm Day). In her heartfelt message, she expressed, "I cannot fully comprehend the devastating emotions, so I send my condolences through this small help." Alongside a photo of chrysanthemums, she added, "I sincerely pray for the souls of all the victims."
The tragic incident occurred on December 29, 2024, when Jeju Air flight 7C2216, arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, resulting in the loss of 179 lives on the spot.
In response to the tragedy, the government has declared a national mourning period until January 4, 2025, to honor the victims. The entertainment industry is also participating in this period of mourning by canceling or postponing various programs, concerts, and press events.
