Lee Young-ja Shares Thoughts on Her First Dating Show Experience

Lee Young-ja (이영자) has opened up about her feelings regarding her participation in her first-ever dating program. Recently, KBS JOY and KBS 2TV unveiled character teasers for their new variety show, 'Old Meeting Pursuit' (오래된 만남 추구), featuring Lee Young-ja and Woo Hee-jin (우희진). Introducing herself by her real name, Lee Yoo-mi (이유미), she expressed, "I feel like this might be my last chance in life, so I want to take it seriously."

On the day of her first meeting with the cast, her close friend Kim Sook (김숙) playfully teased her, asking, "Did you come here to look at land?" To which Lee Young-ja humorously replied, "I came to look at bread, not land." The male contestants showed their admiration, stating, "Thanks to Lee Young-ja, we’re always laughing and the atmosphere is lively," and noted her unexpected charm.

Lee Young-ja further heated up the atmosphere with bold statements like, "I’m thinking about marriage," and "I know exactly what I like in a man. I’m straightforward." She even surprised everyone by introducing one male contestant as "my boyfriend."

Moreover, she actively participated in dates, even pushing Kim Sook aside, saying, "I had to push her away. I really wanted to meet him." Her enthusiastic flirting, including playful questions like, "Do you like me?" created a buzz among the contestants.

On the other hand, Woo Hee-jin shared her initial light-hearted approach to joining the dating show, saying, "Let’s have some fun this time. I came with a really carefree mindset." However, she later revealed to the other female contestants, "What should I do? This is getting serious. I didn’t come here thinking seriously, but now I am."

She even called out to one contestant, "Don’t go," expressing her desire to get to know each one better and contemplating her final choice in the end.

'Old Meeting Pursuit' follows the journey of single celebrities who believed they could handle being stranded on a deserted island without any issues, as they reflect on past connections and search for their true match. The show features Lee Young-ja, Jang Seo-hee (장서희), Kim Sook, Woo Hee-jin, Ji Sang-ryeol (지상렬), Koo Bon-seung (구본승), Hwang Dong-joo (황동주), and Lee Jae-hwang (이재황) as they embark on this unique adventure together.

The premiere of 'Old Meeting Pursuit' is set for January 26 (Sunday) at 9:20 PM on KBS JOY and KBS 2TV.
