Lee Yong-sik's Daughter Lee Soo-min Chooses C-Section After 10 Hours of Labor

On June 16, during the broadcast of TV CHOSUN's 'Lovers of Joseon' (조선의 사랑꾼), the story of Lee Yong-sik's daughter, Lee Soo-min, on her delivery day was shared. After undergoing a gynecological examination, Soo-min prepared for childbirth two weeks later. Lee Yong-sik stayed awake all night, supporting his daughter and son-in-law, Won-hyuk, from the early hours of the morning.

Despite receiving a cervical exam, Soo-min faced difficulties as the baby did not descend, leading her to attempt induced labor. However, as her cervix did not open and the baby remained in position, she began walking around the hospital to encourage labor.

Soon after, her water broke, and contractions began in earnest. In a moment of fear, Soo-min called her father, expressing, "My water broke, and contractions have started. I'm so scared," while shedding tears. Hearing his daughter's distress, Lee Yong-sik was visibly worried and felt helpless.

The couple quickly made their way to the hospital, where Soo-min broke down in tears upon seeing her father. Unable to hold back his emotions, Lee Yong-sik discreetly wiped away his tears behind a curtain.

After enduring 10 hours of labor and attempting natural delivery, the attending physician advised a C-section due to the risk posed by the baby not descending. Ultimately, Soo-min and Won-hyuk decided to proceed with the C-section to avoid further complications.

Shortly after Soo-min entered the operating room, the sound of a baby crying filled the air. Lee Yong-sik and his wife sighed in relief, and Won-hyuk shed tears upon learning of their daughter's birth. Soo-min and Won-hyuk welcomed their daughter, Won-iel, marking their new journey as parents.
