The perpetrators included Tae, a woman in her twenties, and three other men in their twenties. They not only subjected Eun-ah to confinement, violence, and torture but also forced another victim, a mother in her twenties named So-hee (소희), into similar circumstances. The victims were only allowed to use phones registered in the men's names when going out for prostitution, and when they attempted to escape, the perpetrators tracked them using location apps. 

Detective Song Ok-kyung (송오경), with 36 years of experience, stated that he had never encountered a case like this before. Tae, who led the confinement and abuse, had been living with two men who were the legal husbands of the victims, including So-hee's husband, Jo (조), who ignored his wife's suffering while maintaining an affair with Tae.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on charges of murdering three family members, including his parents in their 60s and 70s and his older brother in Gimpo, South Korea. The National Forensic Service later conducted autopsies and preliminarily concluded that the victims died from stab wounds inflicted by the weapon. During police questioning, A reportedly stated that he was provoked by his brother's nagging, leading to an impulsive act of violence.
