Lee Si-young Shares Heartwarming Bond with Her Son on 'Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeob'

On June 23, the channel 'Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeob' aired an episode featuring Lee Si-young, Jung Sang-hoon, and Kim Da-som, who star in the drama 'Salon de Holmes'. During the show, Lee Si-young, who is raising her son after her divorce, explained, "Today is the day my aunt is leaving, so I had no choice but to bring my son along. We will be heading outside the filming set soon." Shin Dong-yeob greeted her son warmly, asking, "Have you seen your uncle on TV?" while giving him some pocket money.
As the conversation progressed, Lee Si-young discussed a recent hiking trip where she carried her son, Jung-yoon, on her back. She noted, "Jung-yoon is quite slim for his age, which made it possible for me to carry him. We even hiked in the Himalayas, thinking it might be our last chance. He enjoyed it and showed no fear, having great stamina, which helped him avoid altitude sickness. I carried him only in the dangerous areas." Shin Dong-yeob praised their close mother-son relationship, saying, "You can really feel how strong the bond is between you two."
Lee Si-young also shared anecdotes from her life before becoming an actress. She revealed that she debuted at 28 after preparing since she was 23. "My family wasn't well-off, and it’s tough to debut after turning 25. I started a jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) business by chance, and I had to convince my parents to help me with a loan. I initially planned to run it with my mom, but she fell ill, so I ended up doing it alone, working 24 hours a day," she recounted.
She added, "There were times when I had to deal with thieves at 2 AM. Their tactics were always the same. They would slap me at first, but I learned to dodge it. They would curse, saying, 'What kind of person works here?' Calling the police was useless since there were no CCTV cameras."
Lee Si-young mentioned that she earned about 300,000 won in monthly profit and felt fortunate to have debuted as an actress. "I had to hand over the business to my mom, but I didn’t want to because she did it so well. She still runs it as a hobby now," she concluded.
