Lee Sang-woo Showcases Ultimate Support for His Wife on 'Newly Launched Restaurant'

On the January 24 episode of KBS2TV's Newly Launched Restaurant (신상출시 편스토랑), Lee Sang-woo demonstrated his exceptional support for his wife, actress Kim So-yeon, by crafting a drum barrel stove to prepare roasted duck with yellow clay.
During the show, Lee took on the challenge of creating the drum barrel stove himself, which drew laughter from the audience when Boom remarked, "Isn't this KBS? A new spectacle from KBS!" Lee even surprised everyone by performing welding tasks.
However, he faced some setbacks as the door he had painstakingly attached kept falling off, leading to moments of frustration. "The drum is too thin, so it keeps falling off," he lamented. Despite this, he persevered, humorously adding a door handle to prevent anyone from stealing the duck while it cooked for three hours.
Lee also crafted a grill from rebar to hold the duck, but accidentally kicked the lower door, causing it to break, which added to the comedic moments of the episode. After installing the chimney, he finally completed the drum barrel stove in three hours.
When it came time to place the duck, which weighed over 2.5 kg, into the drum, Lee exclaimed, "The duck alone is over 2.5 kg!" With determination, he successfully placed the duck inside, which was enveloped in flames due to the thick layer of yellow clay.
"There's no need to go to a clay room; I can just sit here and enjoy!" he joked, prompting Kim Jae-joong to quip, "You seem a bit inflexible," which made everyone laugh.
Finally, the roasted duck was ready. Lee remarked, "Seeing the head turn black means it’s done well. I’ve learned that if the head is black, it’s perfectly cooked." He finished the dish with a final touch using residual heat.
As he removed the clay, he noted, "Wrapped in yellow clay and pine needles, it smells fragrant and medicinal." After tasting the duck, he joyfully declared, "It’s like medicine!" Lee Geum-hee praised it as a unique health dish, saying, "It’s a one-of-a-kind restorative meal in the world!"
