Lee Sang-min Announces Marriage to 10 Years Younger Partner

Lee Sang-min has opened up about his feelings following the announcement of his marriage to a partner 10 years his junior. On the May 13 episode of SBS's Single's Inferno (신발 벗고 돌싱포맨), Lee made his marriage announcement to the show's cast, stating, "I have something to tell you all. I'm getting married."

Before sharing the news publicly, he confided in his fellow cast members, expressing his desire for his family to be the first to know. He revealed, "I knew you wouldn't believe it, but I wanted my family to hear it first. I've been feeling anxious and stopped taking my anxiety medication last week after 11 years. (It's because of her). She encouraged me to quit drinking, smoking, and using drugs, and I promised to stop smoking and taking medication."

Lee explained that he had kept his relationship a secret due to past experiences where things didn't work out when he shared too soon. He described meeting his partner as a fateful encounter, saying, "This time, it feels like destiny, and she is my ideal type that I've longed to meet."

He added, "I don't want to jinx it by getting too excited. Everyone, including my future mother-in-law, has given their blessing. We even traveled together, and I received her final approval. Thankfully, she has seen me on TV and spoke positively about me, easing her initial concerns."

Lee also shared that he decided against having a wedding ceremony, stating, "We thought it would be better to travel together and enjoy our happiness. I did suggest having a wedding since it's her first marriage." The use of the term 'wife' surprised everyone present.

He revealed that he met his partner last year and during a tough time in January, she provided him with clarity and support. He affectionately referred to her as 'Ddoktti,' meaning 'smart,' highlighting her intelligence and how she has helped him resolve many issues in his life.
