Lee Mi-joo Reveals Name Change to Lee Seung-a and Positive Changes in Her Career

Lee Mi-joo, a member of the girl group Lovelyz, has announced that she has changed her name. In a recent episode of the YouTube channel ‘Chop Chop’ titled 'Wednesday Colleague Ji-won vs. Friday Colleague Mi-joo and Hee-chul Between the Two Women! [뇌절자S2 | EP07]', she shared the news.

During the episode, Kim Hee-chul asked, "Didn’t Lee Mi-joo change her name?" to which she confirmed, saying, "Yes, I did. My original name was Lee Mi-joo, but I changed it to Lee Seung-a."

She explained, "However, I’ve asked people not to call me Seung-a on broadcasts. Only those close to me can call me that, while I continue to perform as Mi-joo on air, so many people are unaware of the change."

Kim Hee-chul then questioned, "If that’s the case, why did you change your name?" Lee Mi-joo responded, "My mom heard somewhere that changing your name could improve your situation, so I decided to do it."

She went on to express her surprise at the positive changes following her name change, stating, "It’s been fascinating; after the change, I’ve had more opportunities to showcase myself."
