Lee Kyung-kyu Shares Heartfelt Story Behind His Unique Stance on 'Lee Kyung-kyu's Amazing Habits'

In the upcoming episode of SBS's '이경규의 경이로운 습관' airing on January 5, Lee Kyung-kyu will reveal a touching story about his frequent use of a unique stance due to his struggles with degenerative arthritis, which worsens in cold weather. As the new year begins, he enthusiastically kicked off the recording by wishing for a healthy year ahead. During the show, announcer Lee Yoon-ah greeted him with a traditional New Year's bow and requested 'sebae money,' to which Lee Kyung-kyu humorously replied, 'The era of giving sebae money is over.'
He then expressed envy towards those who still perform the New Year's bow, admitting, 'I envy those with flexible joints when they bow.' Medical experts present during the recording cautioned that the age of arthritis onset is decreasing, highlighting the need for vigilance. Lee Yoon-ah, in her 40s, shared her own knee pain stemming from a cyst discovered during a recent examination, prompting Lee Kyung-kyu to jokingly suggest she should quit her job to care for her mother.
When discussing the negative impact of standing with a crossed leg on knee joints, Lee Kyung-kyu, who often adopts this stance, explained, 'It's for style! Standing slightly askew makes me look more impressive when I say, 'Hey, PD Kim.' He even demonstrated how he stands this way. However, contrary to his belief that it’s just for style, the doctors noted that weakened quadriceps due to aging can lead to this posture becoming a habit, leaving Lee Kyung-kyu feeling disheartened.
In a humorous twist, the episode also features Lee Yoon-ah's mother, who visited the hospital due to concerns about her increasingly bent legs. After receiving an early diagnosis of arthritis, Lee Kyung-kyu once again urged Yoon-ah to quit her job to take care of her mother, eliciting laughter from the audience.
