Lee Jun-hyuk Reflects on the Success of 'My Perfect Secretary'

Actor Lee Jun-hyuk recently shared his thoughts on the successful conclusion of the SBS drama 'My Perfect Secretary' (나의 완벽한 비서), which aired its final episode on February 10. In an interview held at a café in Palpan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, he expressed gratitude for the positive reception of the series.

'My Perfect Secretary' tells the story of a headhunting company CEO, Ji-yoon (한지민), who excels at her job, and her perfect secretary, Eun-ho (이준혁), who provides meticulous care. Lee Jun-hyuk portrayed Eun-ho, a character characterized by a blend of strength and gentleness, along with a charming demeanor and impeccable manners.

Reflecting on the show's ratings and popularity, Lee stated, "This is the first time I've had our company representative attend an interview, which makes it feel real. I am very grateful. I often worry about every project, so I feel relieved that it turned out well."

He continued, "It’s rewarding to see that the hard work of our team resonated with the audience. Creating something that doesn’t exist in the world and having people enjoy it feels like a personal conversation. It’s quite moving."

Having previously starred in various genre dramas such as 'Stranger' (비밀의 숲), '60 Days, Designated Survivor' (60일, 지정생존자), and '365: Repeat the Year' (365: 운명을 거스르는 1년), Lee Jun-hyuk took on a romantic role in 'My Perfect Secretary', which has been well-received by female viewers.

Despite currently filming another drama, 'Lady Dua', where he portrays a serious character, he has received positive feedback from friends and acquaintances about his performance in 'My Perfect Secretary'. He noted, "I feel that people are enjoying it, and it’s nice to see the positive effects of this project."

When asked if he made any visual preparations for his role in a romance drama, he explained, "In our profession, we are often seen as valuable assets. The staff takes care of me because if I get hurt, production costs increase. We all work together to create a visually appealing product for romance dramas."

Lee also mentioned that he sometimes surprises himself with how he appears on screen, stating, "I think of Eun-ho as a character created by everyone, not just me. It’s important to acknowledge the team’s hard work."

When asked about specific scenes he felt turned out well, he highlighted a moment where Eun-ho and Ji-yoon share a meaningful glance, saying, "There’s a scene where they exchange looks without speaking, which I really like. It’s a hallmark of good romance when such moments are captured beautifully."
