In the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's Newly Launched Restaurant (신상출시 편스토랑) airing on May 23, multi-talented star Lee Jung-hyun (이정현) will fulfill her long-held dream of becoming a film director. Having debuted at the age of 16 in the film 'Flower Petal' (꽃잎) and receiving acclaim as a child prodigy, she later reached the pinnacle of the music industry at 20. Lee's relentless dedication and passion have also earned her the Best Actress award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards (청룡영화상), making her latest venture into directing a highly anticipated topic.
The episode will feature a video clip of Lee attending the Jeonju International Film Festival not as an actress, but as a director. She expressed her excitement, stating, "My debut short film 'Going to the Flower Viewing' (꽃놀이 간다) has been invited to the Korean Cinema section of the Jeonju International Film Festival. I was really nervous to attend with the title of director." The screening of her directorial debut reportedly sold out, indicating a warm reception.
At the screening, Lee introduced herself with a trembling voice, saying, "I am Lee Jung-hyun, an actress, singer, and now a director." In a heartwarming moment, her adorable daughter, Seo-ah (서아), made a surprise appearance to support her mother, confidently greeting the audience with a cheerful "Hello" and presenting Lee with flowers, which brought smiles to the attendees.
