Lee Ji-hye Reveals Secret IVF Attempt for Third Child on 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'

On the December 23 episode of SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (동상이몽 시즌2-너는 내 운명), Lee Ji-hye shared surprising news about her secret attempt to conceive a third child through in vitro fertilization (IVF) without her family's knowledge. During the show, a medical expert noted that despite her challenging circumstances, she had been eager to have a third child. Lee Ji-hye, now 44 years old, expressed her desire for another baby, shedding tears as she spoke about her longing. She revealed that she had made her final attempt over the past three months.

Despite her hopes, the attempt did not succeed. Lee Ji-hye stated, "I will never get divorced, and the reason is my children. They mean everything to me, and my mother raised me the same way." She emphasized her deep love for her children and the happiness they bring her, explaining her motivation for wanting a third child.

She also mentioned that she kept her IVF attempt a secret because she anticipated her family's opposition. When the doctor gently inquired if the failed IVF attempt was painful, Lee Ji-hye responded with tears, saying, "It wasn't so much a wound as it was a realization that some things cannot be achieved despite our efforts."

The doctor advised her, saying, "You are not just someone who works hard; there are aspects where you need to plant your flag and set clear goals. If you only chase immediate results, you might face burnout as you get older, especially with more people to care for around you." Lee Ji-hye acknowledged this, admitting to her perfectionist tendencies and the importance of children in her life, stating that this was her last chance to try for a baby and that she had given her all to the fertility treatments.
