Lee Jang-woo and Jo Hye-won Announce Wedding Plans for Next Year

Actor Lee Jang-woo (이장우) and actress Jo Hye-won (조혜원) are set to tie the knot next year. This announcement was made during the December 11 episode of MBC's 'Village Chief Lee Jang-woo' (시골마을 이장우), where Lee was seen preparing side dishes to pair with makgeolli, assisted by chefs Hong Seok-cheon (홍석천) and Lee Won-il (이원일).

While working on a project to revive a defunct brewery in Gimje, Lee faced several challenges in making makgeolli and sought expert advice, engaging in discussions with the production team and conducting his own research. He dedicated significant effort to create the perfect side dishes, particularly focusing on green onion kimchi, which he became enamored with after tasting a version made by local grandmothers. After much practice, he nearly replicated their traditional flavors.

To evaluate his dishes, Lee invited Hong Seok-cheon and Lee Won-il for a tasting. Upon seeing Lee, Hong jokingly asked, "Aren't you on a diet?" and teased him about not preparing for summer. Lee appeared visibly nervous cooking in front of such esteemed culinary figures, prompting Lee Won-il to offer support while Hong continued to lighten the mood with jokes. During this exchange, Hong inquired, "Since you cook so well, when are you getting married?" to which Lee replied, "I’m preparing for my wedding next year."

Currently, Lee Jang-woo is in a relationship with Jo Hye-won, who is eight years his junior. The couple confirmed their relationship in June of last year, having met on the set of the KBS2 drama 'My Only One' (하나뿐인 내편) in 2018. Their long-standing relationship has raised expectations for their upcoming wedding, although Lee previously hinted at postponing marriage during an award ceremony last year after winning a trophy.
