Lee Hyun Yi and Han Ga In Report Health Issues, Both Hospitalized

On December 5, 2024, model and broadcaster Lee Hyun Yi (이현이) and actress Han Ga In (한가인) both shared concerning updates about their health, prompting worries among fans. Han Ga In revealed on her personal channel that she had been hospitalized. When asked about the reason for her hospitalization, she humorously referenced a recent meeting with Kim Dong Jun (김동준), saying, "You know that meeting a doppelgänger can be fatal, right?" She added that their differing genders likely spared her from more serious consequences.

Han Ga In explained that after meeting Kim Dong Jun for their YouTube channel, she began feeling unwell that evening. She described her condition worsening to the point where she could not stand or eat, noting that there was no specific diagnosis at first. She even arrived at the hospital in a wheelchair. Fortunately, doctors identified the cause of her symptoms as orthostatic hypotension, a condition she had not been aware of for five years, initially mistaking her dizziness for a complication from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.

"When I stand, blood doesn't flow to my head, which is why I felt dizzy," she explained. After starting medication, she reported feeling much better, stating, "The palpitations I had while sleeping have disappeared."

On the same day, Lee Hyun Yi also shared her health struggles, revealing that she had been unwell for some time. Last month, she had to cancel a live event due to vocal cord nodules. On December 5, she posted on her personal account, "I’ve been sick for a while now. I had cold sores and inflammation all over my body. I think my body has reached its limit." This revelation surprised many of her followers.

Lee Hyun Yi mentioned her commitment to healthier eating habits moving forward, humorously noting that she discovered some food items in her pantry were six years past their expiration date. Fellow entertainers expressed their support, with Kahi (가희) encouraging her to stay strong, while Lee Ji Hye (이지혜) and Lee Soo Jin (이수지) expressed their concern for her health. Yoon Seung Ah (윤승아) also left a supportive comment, saying, "Don’t get sick! ♥"

Han Ga In and her husband Yeon Jung Hoon (연정훈) have been married since 2005 and have two children together. They have been active on YouTube recently. Lee Hyun Yi married engineer Hong Seong Ki (홍성기) in 2012 and has two sons. She is also known for her appearance on SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (동상이몽2 - 너는 내 운명) and has recently been selected as a host for the '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards' alongside Jeon Hyun Moo (전현무) and comedian Jang Do Yeon (장도연).
