Lee Hye-young Discusses Unique Challenges in Action Film 'Pagua'

On March 27, a production briefing for the action film 'Pagua' (directed by Min Kyu-dong) took place at Lotte Cinema in Gunja-dong, Seoul. The event featured Lee Hye-young, who plays the legendary killer 'Jo-gak,' alongside Kim Sung-cheol, who portrays the mysterious killer 'Tu-woo,' and director Min Kyu-dong.
Lee Hye-young shared her thoughts on the film, stating, "I have watched countless action movies, and the role of a killer is often portrayed in a conventional manner. However, 'Pagua' offers a fresh perspective on the killer archetype. The action sequences required me to express genuine emotions and physicality, which made it more challenging and resulted in numerous injuries. The action director and my stunt double worked incredibly hard as well."
Based on the novel by author Gu Byeong-mo, 'Pagua' depicts a gripping blood-soaked confrontation between a legendary killer, who has spent 40 years eliminating 'cockroach-like' humans, and a mysterious killer pursuing him. The film features a talented cast including Lee Hye-young, Kim Sung-cheol, Yoon Woo-jin, Kim Mu-yeol, and Cynthia, with Min Kyu-dong, known for directing the 'Scary Stories' series, at the helm. 'Pagua' is set to be released on May 1.
