Lee Ha-nee and Um Hyun-kyung Win Best Acting Awards After Childbirth

Lee Ha-nee (이하늬) and Um Hyun-kyung (엄현경) have both received prestigious acting awards for their first projects after giving birth. On this occasion, Um Hyun-kyung was honored with the Best Actor Award in the daily drama category for her role in 용감무쌍 용수정 (Brave and Fearless Yong Soo-jung), while Lee Ha-nee won the Best Actor Award in the miniseries category for her performance in 밤에 피는 꽃 (Flowers Blooming at Night). Both actresses celebrated their remarkable achievements in their respective comeback projects.

During her acceptance speech, Lee Ha-nee expressed her condolences to the victims of a recent tragedy and offered prayers for the bereaved families. She humbly acknowledged, "I never thought I would receive such a significant award, but I was fortunate to work with an amazing team. I want to thank the writer for introducing me to a character I fell in love with as soon as I read the script, and Director Jang Tae-yoo for his dedication and craftsmanship throughout the production."

Lee Ha-nee also shared her personal challenges, stating, "This was my first project after giving birth, and I was uncertain about my physical condition, which made it a considerable challenge for me. I am grateful to the viewers for their love and support, which allowed me to be here today."

Reflecting on her journey, she recalled receiving a rookie award for daily dramas from MBC early in her career and encouraged aspiring actors not to give up, saying, "There are often more reasons to fail than to succeed, but perseverance can turn disadvantages into strengths. If you are pursuing your dreams, don’t give up. If you keep going, something will come of it."

Lee Ha-nee concluded her speech by acknowledging the profound experience of motherhood, stating, "Being a mother is not an easy task. I have learned that taking responsibility for someone else is a noble and challenging endeavor. I want to dedicate this award to all the mothers who sacrifice for others."

Um Hyun-kyung also began her speech with condolences, saying, "It feels heavy to express gratitude at this moment. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I believe this award represents the hard work of the cast and crew of 용감무쌍 용수정 (Brave and Fearless Yong Soo-jung). I want to thank my fellow actors, including Seo Jun-young and Lim Joo-eun, for their support during the eight months of filming."

She added, "I personally love daily dramas and hope they continue to receive the love and attention of viewers. I couldn’t have focused on the drama without the support of my beloved family. I want to express my deep gratitude and love to them. Thank you."
