Lee Ha-jung Reveals Diet Motivation Linked to Husband Jung Joon-ho's Comments

On the December 18 episode of TV CHOSUN's Perfect Life (퍼펙트 라이프), broadcaster Lee Ha-jung shared her journey of losing weight, revealing that her husband, Jung Joon-ho, played a significant role in her decision to diet. Over the past nine months, she has shed 6 kg, bringing her weight down to 49 kg, which she confirmed by stepping on a scale during the show, surprising everyone present. Fellow cast member Hyun-young expressed envy, noting that 49 kg is almost the weight of an elementary school student and asked for her dieting secrets. Lee Ha-jung explained that she set a firm goal and was determined to achieve it, mentioning her husband's comments about her appearance.
Lee Ha-jung recounted, "My husband doesn't often comment on my looks, but one day he said, 'It seems like you've gained some weight in your face.' I understood immediately, especially with his subtle way of speaking. From that day on, I started focusing on my body image and drastically reduced my carbohydrate intake, including bread and ramen."
She also shared her joy in fitting into her clothes again, stating, "I feel great because I've returned to my college weight. It brings back memories and excitement, reminiscent of when I first met my husband."
The episode also showcased her daily life, where after dropping her children off at school and kindergarten, she enjoyed an hour of free time. She parked at Han River Park and practiced face yoga in her car while checking her phone. Lee Ha-jung mentioned that her skin elasticity had decreased due to dieting, so she was focusing on facial muscle exercises. She also managed her children's homework and enjoyed a salad and kimbap she had brought along. When Hyun-young asked if she was inspired by actress Han Ga-in's recent 'car life' routine, Lee Ha-jung admitted, "I saw Han Ga-in doing it and thought it might help, so I tried it."
Later, Lee Ha-jung took her daughter, Yu-dam, to make a Christmas cake. Displaying her less-than-stellar cooking skills, she forgot some ingredients, while Yu-dam followed her teacher's instructions perfectly, impressing everyone with her results. Lee Ha-jung noted that her husband, Jung Joon-ho, is a good cook, having lived alone for a long time and being skilled in both Korean and Italian cuisine. She humorously mentioned that the only dish she was recognized for was her kimchi stew, which she claimed was delicious because it was made with her mother-in-law's kimchi.
While at a kids' cafe, Lee Ha-jung showed signs of fatigue and eventually called her mother for help. The panelists suggested she should build muscle, to which she agreed, admitting she hadn't exercised in a while. As they took a break, Lee Ha-jung expressed gratitude for her affectionate daughter, while her mother shared a humorous story about Lee Ha-jung's perfectionist tendencies as a child.
In contrast, when discussing her first son, Lee Ha-jung praised him for being kind like his father, to which she agreed, saying, "He is kind, but he's just very busy." Her mother also expressed concern about her busy son-in-law, and Lee Ha-jung noted that as they age, both she and her husband feel more fatigued, leading them to focus more on their family's health.
