Lee Cheong Ah Shares Thoughts on Hosting Dating Show 'Heart Pairing'

On March 7, during an online press conference for Channel A's new dating reality show 'Heart Pairing' (하트페어링), actress Lee Cheong Ah expressed her feelings about taking on the role of MC. The event featured PD Park Cheol Hwan, singer Yoon Jong Shin, Lee Cheong Ah, Super Junior's Choi Siwon, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and Professor Park Ji Sun, who discussed the show's concept.
'Heart Pairing' is a dating program focused on young adults who aspire to marry, capturing the romantic yet realistic pre-marriage dating experiences of its participants. The show follows young men and women who come together with the intention of finding their future spouses, moving beyond mere flirtation to genuinely getting to know one another.
As a studio MC, Lee Cheong Ah joins Yoon Jong Shin, Choi Siwon, Mimi, and Professor Park Ji Sun to delve into the psychology of the contestants and facilitate their pairings.
Lee Cheong Ah, who admitted to not being particularly interested in others' love lives, shared that the only dating show she watched was 'Heart Signal 4' (하트시그널4), which she became engrossed in later on. She mentioned that the PD's request for her to view the contestants positively resonated with her, prompting her to explore her own feelings as an actress. "I’m not very good at flirting; I tend to be a bit dense. I thought I might try to awaken my romantic instincts while filming today, and although I got some guesses wrong, I think I’m starting to understand now," she explained.
When asked if her views on potential marriage partners have changed, Lee Cheong Ah responded, "Being an MC on a dating show has made me realize that I’m just like the viewers sitting at home. However, there is excitement in being able to see things first. Watching the show also makes me reflect on my own thoughts. If I were to get married, I believe the direction and timing would be very important."
The new dating reality show 'Heart Pairing' is set to premiere on Channel A tonight at 10:50 PM.
