Lee Chan-won Wins Grand Prize at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards

At the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards held on December 21, singer Lee Chan-won (이찬원) took home the prestigious Grand Prize. Overwhelmed with emotion, he expressed, "I truly didn't expect to win. In fact, I had secretly prepared an acceptance speech during the 2022 and 2023 awards, but this year, I wasn't ready at all." He fought back tears as he continued, "This year, I didn't prepare a speech, so I will speak from the heart as thoughts come to me."

Reflecting on his journey, Lee shared, "I stepped into KBS 16 years ago through 'National Singing Contest' (전국노래자랑) and have been involved in many programs since 2020. Recently, people have asked why I appear on so many shows instead of focusing solely on singing. I have loved variety shows since I was young, and I don't think I can give that up in the future."

He expressed gratitude for the numerous programs he participated in this year, including the long-running 'Immortal Songs' (불후의 명곡) and 'Pyeon Restaurant' (편스토랑), as well as new shows launched this year. Lee made sure to thank the staff by name, acknowledging their hard work. He concluded, "As a broadcaster, I will not become complacent. I will continue to strive for excellence.
