Lee Chan-won Delivers Thrilling Commentary in Tense 'Volunteer' Match

In the latest episode of KBS2's entertainment show 'Volunteer' (뽈룬티어), which aired on May 10, Lee Chan-won showcased a rollercoaster of emotions during what was described as the most intense match in the show's history. The episode featured a showdown between the 'Volunteer' team and the Chungcheong-Jeolla alliance team in the third round of their national championship series, with both teams having previously recorded one win and one loss. The 'Volunteer' team aimed to secure 9 million won in donations and achieve a three-match winning streak.
The Chungcheong-Jeolla alliance team entered the match with formidable strength, putting pressure on the 'Volunteer' team from the outset. As the commentator, Lee Chan-won expressed his awe, stating, "You can't block shots like that even if you know they're coming," and admitted to forgetting he was commentating as he cheered, "Wow, they're doing great!" However, as the match progressed, his tone shifted to urgency, declaring, "This shot must be blocked!" and exclaiming, "It's really scary. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to drink water!" This highlighted the tense atmosphere of the event.
Coach Lee Young-pyo also noted the challenge posed by the opposing team, saying, "When you face a team that breaks things, you have to break things together," and called them the strongest team they had encountered so far.
Additionally, the episode marked the return of Baek Ji-hoon (백지훈), who had missed previous matches due to injury. Before the game, he confidently stated, "I will score one goal against each team."
