Lee Byung-hun Admits Similarities with His Character in Squid Game 2

Actor Lee Byung-hun has acknowledged that he shares similarities with his character, Oh Young-il, in the highly anticipated series Squid Game 2. In a recent video released on January 24 by the online channel W Korea, the cast members of Squid Game 2 answered various questions posed by the production team. When asked which other character from the series he would like to portray, Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun, expressed his desire to continue in his current role, stating, 'I would still choose to be Seong Gi-hun.' He described the character as one he holds dear, noting the struggles and hopes associated with him. Lee Byung-hun, when questioned about the similarities and differences between himself and his character, remarked, 'I think the character I resemble the most is Oh Young-il. I tend to smile a lot and make dry jokes, which I believe reflects my character.' When the production team playfully asked if he also shares a clumsy side, Lee Byung-hun humorously responded, 'Didn’t you see that earlier?' He further entertained viewers by struggling with traditional games featured in Squid Game, such as 'gonggi' and 'dakkji.'
