LE SSERAFIM to Shine at the 66th Japan Record Awards

LE SSERAFIM (르세라핌), consisting of Kim Chae-won (김채원), Sakura (사쿠라), Heo Yoon-jin (허윤진), Kazuha (카즈하), and Hong Eun-chae (홍은채), is set to make a significant impact in Japan. According to TBS, the group will perform at the '66th Japan Record Awards' (제66회 빛난다! 일본 레코드 대상) on December 30 at 5:30 PM.
The Japan Record Awards, organized by the Japan Composers Association, is a prestigious music award ceremony that has been held since 1959, making it one of the oldest and most respected in Japan. Last month, the list of award winners was announced, and LE SSERAFIM received the Special International Music Award, which honors artists who have made outstanding global contributions regardless of their region or country. This recognition is particularly significant as LE SSERAFIM is the first K-pop girl group to win this award.
As award recipients, LE SSERAFIM will deliver a powerful performance at the ceremony, showcasing their latest single 'CRAZY -Japanese ver.-', which was released on December 11. This track is the Japanese version of their hit song 'CRAZY' from their fourth mini-album, which has been gaining popularity in Korea. Notably, the song recently climbed to third place on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, marking its highest ranking to date and demonstrating its enduring appeal four months post-release.
This year, LE SSERAFIM has achieved remarkable success in Japan, appearing on multiple charts in the Billboard Japan '2024 First Half Chart', including the Hot 100, Hot Albums, and Top Artists categories. They also held their first fan meeting, 'LE SSERAFIM FAN MEETING FEARNADA 2024 S/S - JAPAN', across four cities, attracting around 80,000 fans. Additionally, their song 'Eve, Psyche, and the Bluebeard's Wife' from their first full album has surpassed 100 million streams, earning a Platinum certification from the Japan Record Association.
Following their appearance at the Japan Record Awards, LE SSERAFIM will also perform at NHK's prestigious year-end program 'Kōhaku Uta Gassen' (홍백가합전) on December 31, marking their third consecutive invitation. Anticipation is already building for their performances, which will be broadcast nationwide in Japan as the year comes to a close.
