LE SSERAFIM Expands Influence in the U.S. as a 'World Class' Act

LE SSERAFIM is making significant strides in the U.S. music scene, marking their ascent as a 'world-class' group. According to the U.S. market research firm Luminate, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) ranked 66th in the Luminate Index for the third quarter of 2024, the highest position among K-pop artists.

The Luminate Index is calculated based on various factors: streaming (30%), social media presence (15%), artist recognition (25%), public appeal (15%), and engagement scores (15%), which include live event participation and brand involvement. This ranking reflects not only their dedicated fanbase but also their growing mainstream popularity. LE SSERAFIM's position between major pop stars like Dua Lipa at 65th and Lil Wayne at 67th showcases their expanding influence in the industry.

This achievement is a result of LE SSERAFIM's consecutive hits and recognition at major international award shows. Their mini-album's title track 'EASY,' released in February, debuted at 99th on the Billboard Hot 100, often referred to as the 'dream chart.' Six months later, their title track 'CRAZY' reached 76th on the same chart, marking the best performance for a K-pop girl group this year with two consecutive weeks on the chart.

Additionally, following their first studio album 'UNFORGIVEN' released last May, they successfully placed both 'EASY' and 'CRAZY' in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, solidifying their strong local fanbase. LE SSERAFIM is the first fourth-generation girl group to achieve three consecutive albums in the Billboard 200 top 10.

In September, they won the 'PUSH Performance of the Year' at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where they also performed solo during the pre-show, making a memorable impression on the local audience. In November, they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, where they also won the 'Best Push' award.

As the year comes to a close, LE SSERAFIM is ramping up their activities both domestically and internationally. They are set to appear at the KBS2 '2024 Music Bank Global Festival in JAPAN' on December 19, the SBS 'Gayo Daejeon' on December 25, and the '9th Asia Artist Awards' on December 27. They will also perform at Japan's prestigious year-end program, NHK's 'Kohaku Uta Gassen,' for the third consecutive year on December 31.
