Late Actress Kim Soo-mi's Final Film 'Ghost Police' Set for January Release

The late Kim Soo-mi's final film, 'Ghost Police' (귀신경찰), directed by Kim Young-jun, is confirmed to be released in January 2025. This film marks the last project of Kim Soo-mi, who passed away unexpectedly in October 2024. Known for her extensive work in both dramas and variety shows, this film will showcase her talent one last time.

Kim Soo-mi's passing was reported on October 25, 2024, due to complications from high blood sugar, which led to cardiac arrest. She was 75 years old. Her funeral was attended by family members, including her son Jung Myung-ho, daughter Jung Joo-ri, and daughter-in-law actress Seo Hyo-rim, along with many friends from the entertainment industry.

Debuting as an MBC talent in 1970, Kim Soo-mi rose to fame with her role as 'Il-yong Eomni' in the beloved series 'Jeonwon Ilgi'. She later starred in various productions, including 'Goodbye, Francesca', 'The Legendary Witch', 'Sister Is Alive', and films like 'Barefoot Gi-bong' and the 'Family Honor' series.

In 'Ghost Police', the story revolves around a police officer who, after facing a sudden misfortune, gains trivial abilities and becomes entangled in unexpected family events. This film features a reunion of Kim Soo-mi and Shin Hyun-joon, who will portray a mother-son duo for the third time, promising natural ad-libs and a delightful chemistry that is sure to bring laughter.

Shin Hyun-joon plays a once-legendary police officer who falls from grace due to a single incident and ends up living with his mother, played by Kim Soo-mi, who runs a popular local restaurant. Actor Jung Joon-ho will make a special appearance as the antagonist responsible for the protagonist's downfall, adding a unique twist to the film.
