Kwon Sang-woo and Hwang Woo-seul-hye Reunite as a Couple in 'Hitman 2'

On January 15, 2025, at the CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, a press screening and conference for the film 'Hitman 2' (directed by Choi Won-seop) took place. The event featured the director alongside cast members Kwon Sang-woo, Jung Joon-ho, Lee Yi-kyung, Hwang Woo-seul-hye, and Kim Sung-oh, who shared their thoughts on the film.
'Hitman 2' is a comedic action film that follows 'Jun', a once-successful writer who suddenly finds himself accused of a crime after a terrorist imitates his new webtoon. This sequel comes five years after the release of the first season in 2020.
During the event, Kwon Sang-woo and Hwang Woo-seul-hye discussed their reunion as a couple in the film. Kwon expressed his excitement, stating, "Although it hasn't been too long since Season 1, I always look forward to working with Woo-seul-hye. She brings a unique atmosphere and tone that is irreplaceable, contributing significantly to our 'Hitman' series. I remember laughing on set because of her, even though I'm usually not one to smile much."
He also mentioned that while the film could have received a 12+ rating, it was rated 15+ due to the humor surrounding the line, 'the husband gets hit too much.' He expressed his hope that audiences would enjoy the film and that their chemistry would continue to shine.
Hwang Woo-seul-hye shared her gratitude for Kwon's constant praise, which she found motivating during their performances. She noted, "I learn a lot from his attitude and consideration. If we get to work together again in Season 3, I believe he will write even more for us. I trust him and will continue to work hard."
Regarding a scene where she hits Kwon's character, Hwang commented, "He always tries to dodge or flinch, which makes it even more fun for me. I’m not sure how it turned out on screen, though." Lee Yi-kyung chimed in, saying, "When the shot was rolling, it looked so real that I thought he actually got hit. The sound effects were quite convincing, adding to the realism."
Jung Joon-ho added humorously that typically, female actors might shy away from such scenes, but they managed to portray it in a way that was impressively realistic.
'Hitman 2' is set to hit theaters nationwide on January 22, 2025.
