K-Pop Stars Unite to Support Victims of Devastating Wildfires in Gyeongsangdo

In light of the unprecedented wildfires that have ravaged the Gyeongsangdo region, numerous K-Pop stars are stepping up to offer their support. The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on March 26, 2025, that singer and actress IU (이지은) has donated a total of 200 million KRW, with 100 million KRW allocated for wildfire relief and another 100 million KRW aimed at improving the treatment and recognition of firefighters working on the front lines.

IU expressed her heartfelt condolences to the victims, stating, "I hope this small contribution can help those affected, and I sincerely wish for the swift extinguishing of the fires without further loss of life." She also extended her gratitude to the firefighters for their dedication.

On the same day, actress Bae Suzy (배수지) also made a generous donation of 100 million KRW. Her agency shared that Suzy wanted to contribute after hearing about the expanding wildfire damage, emphasizing the urgent need for assistance and hoping for a quick return to normalcy for the affected communities.

Actress Park Bo-young (박보영) donated 50 million KRW to improve the working conditions of firefighters, with her agency noting her deep appreciation for their hard work during disasters. Similarly, actress Han Ji-min (한지민) contributed 50 million KRW, while fellow stars Go Min-si (고민시), Hyeri (혜리), and Go Yoon-jung (고윤정) each donated 50 million KRW to support wildfire victims.

The music industry also joined the charitable efforts. Singer Young-tak (영탁), hailing from Andong, expressed his sorrow over the wildfire damage in his hometown and donated 100 million KRW for disaster relief. Fellow 'Mr. Trot' alumni Lee Chan-won (이찬원) and Jang Min-ho (장민호) also contributed 100 million KRW each.

NCT member Haechan (해찬) donated 50 million KRW for the support of the affected areas, while singer and actor Park Jin-young (박진영) matched that amount. The band Jannabi (잔나비), consisting of members Choi Jung-hoon (최정훈) and Kim Do-hyung (김도형), also announced a donation of 10 million KRW.
