K-Pop Stars Show Support at Presidential Impeachment Rally

On December 13, renowned artists Lee Seung Hwan (이승환), IU (아이유), and Girls' Generation's Yuri (유리) expressed their solidarity with citizens attending the impeachment rally against President Yoon Suk-yeol (윤석열) in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul.
Lee Seung Hwan took to the stage at the 'Impeachment Candlelight Cultural Festival,' performing songs such as 'As Much as Love is Spread in the World' and 'Do You Love?' He notably altered the lyrics of his song 'Dunk Shot' to deliver a powerful message, chanting, "Let’s chant a spell, come down Yoon Suk-yeol." He referred to himself as a "specialist singer for impeachment rallies" and empathized with the struggles many felt after President Yoon's recent address.
IU also contributed to the rally by providing support for attendees. Her agency, Edam Entertainment, announced via a fan cafe that they prepared 200 loaves of bread, 200 drinks, and 200 bowls of soup to warm the hands of those braving the cold. Even non-fans could receive food by simply saying "Uena" at designated stores in Yeouido.
Meanwhile, Yuri from Girls' Generation showed her support by pre-ordering kimbap for fans near Dangsan Station. She encouraged fans through a communication platform, saying, "Eat well and stay safe with the kimbap." Fans could claim their kimbap by showing the Girls' Generation light stick, 'Sowon Bong.' This gesture was inspired by the recent rally where Girls' Generation's song 'Into the New World' resonated among the crowd.
The National Assembly is set to vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon at 4 PM on December 14.
