K-Pop Star Wheesung Found Dead at Home

On March 10, 2025, singer Wheesung (휘성), whose real name is Choi Wheesung, was discovered deceased at his residence in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at approximately 6:29 PM. Authorities reported that they received a call from Wheesung's mother, who stated that her son had collapsed. There are currently no signs of foul play, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death, including whether a suicide note was found.

Wheesung, who was set to meet fans at a concert on March 15, has left his colleagues in the entertainment industry in shock. Rapper Paloalto shared Wheesung's debut album, 'Like a Movie,' on his Instagram story, reminiscing about how Wheesung was a promising artist among R&B fans even before his debut. He expressed his shock and sadness, stating, "He was a singer with many memories from my twenties, and I am grateful for the music that accompanied my youth."

Wheesung debuted in 2002 and quickly gained popularity, winning numerous music program awards and rookie accolades in his first year.
